A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to inactive email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete address or has made a spelling mistake. The negative aspect of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of spam, but this issue can be fixed by using anti-spam protection software. It is also important to remember that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot forward inbound email messages to a 3rd-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
In case you have a shared hosting with us and you want to enable the catch-all feature for a specific mailbox that you have in the hosting account, it will take literally just one single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available to the right of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain registered in your account. You can choose one single email address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will enable the feature straight away, so all email messages sent to mistyped addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button again will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you have enabled email forwarding, our system will show a warning notice and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature until you disable the forwarding or you can simply choose another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
